Panel: As Anti-Vax Mandate Crowd Menaces School Board, Mayoral Hopefuls Skirmish, Covid Plateaus

Gwyn Lurie, editor of the Montecito Journal, rejoins the panel on a lively and contentious new episode of Newsmakers TV, offering an up-close-and-personal take on the newspaper's big SB mayoral debate this week.

Josh Molina reports on the League of Women Voters mayoral forum a night later, and the two go a few rounds in assessing the state of play in the campaign, and who does and doesn't have a chance to win at this point.

Jun Starkey recounts the action at the SB school board meeting, as anti-vaccination and anti-mandate protesters once again did their best to disrupt the meeting while aiming vicious and personal attacks at several board members, an echo of what is happening all around the state as threats and intimidation are leading some local electeds serving on boards of education to resign rather than face the abuse and risk to personal safety.

Mega-kudos to Noozhawk's Jade Martinez-Pogue, who's just won a prestigious fellowship at USC's Anneberg School to study health reporting, and checks in this week with the latest Covid and vaccine updates.

If it's Friday, it's Newsmakers TV - all here, right now.
