Young Dems Host First (Virtual) SB Mayor Cattle Call -- Tonight (Monday) at 6 p.m.

Writer: Newsmakers with JRNewsmakers with JR

Memo to hardcore political junkies: The three Democrats running for mayor, along with the three district city council members seeking re-election, are scheduled to appear at an online forum tonight (Monday) at 6 p.m., sponsored by the Santa Barbara Young Democrats.

"As a chartered club with the SB County Democratic Party, we'll be using these conversations with the candidates to inform our group's endorsement committee on March 22, where we will decide which candidates (the club) will back at the April 1 Democratic County Committee meeting" said Ian Baucke, the club's Director of Advocacy and Policy.

The event will be live-streamed on Facebook; details are here.

Mayor Cathy Murillo, entrepreneur James Joyce III and Planning Commissioner Deborah Schwartz all have confirmed for the forum, according to Baucke; former council member Randy Rowse, who is not a Democrat, also is running.

Incumbent council members Kristen Sneddon (District 4), Eric Friedman (District 5) and Meagan Harmon (District 6) also will make a presentation and answer questions.
